Another application of machine learning that is becoming quite popular is the Virtual Personal Assistant. Siri, Alexa, Cortana and Google Now are all examples of Virtual Personal Assistants. These systems assist you in finding information or even carrying out certain functions, like taking notes, creating a task or setting an alarm.
If you ask a question like “What is my schedule for tomorrow?”, or “what time is my flight?” the assistant will look for information related to your query and provide you with the most relevant information.
Through the use of machine learning, these assistants collect data and refine it as per your previous requests and queries. This information is later used to give you results tailored to your preferences. These are only two of many systems that use machine learning.
